Registration Information:

2026 California Capitol Day participants must adhere to the following registration requirements:

• All attendees must participate in the daily Legislative Meeting Preparation  
• Attendees agree to participate in the meetings in their California Capitol Day schedules only. 
• All attendees will get access to an app with information on all meetings. 
• Attendees agree to use the 2026 California Capitol Day talking points
• All appointments will be scheduled by the contracted scheduling service – attendees agree not to schedule appointments on their own.
• Space is limited. Individuals should register by Friday, May 1st, 2026, to increase their chance of their preferred legislative meetings.

Registration cancellation requests must be made in writing and emailed to registration@geothermal.org by Tuesday, May 5, 2026. We strongly request all cancellations be made no later than Tuesday, May 5, 2026, so scheduled appointments with state legislators can be cancelled.

Start day two with a wrap up of Tuesday’s meetings. Did we identify new champions? Are there follow-up communications to be sent? Additional questions to answer? We will also discuss lessons learned and final review of the industry talking points and key policy issues.

9:00 AM-4:00 PM | Federal Agency Meeting Day (Policy Council Only)

Policy Council members will take part in an invitation-only Federal Agency Meeting Day with key partners such as BLM, DOE, and the new Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation. These meetings strengthen relationships, align priorities, and improve coordination across federal programs—ensuring geothermal development moves forward efficiently and effectively.

*Although we will make every effort to schedule all House Meetings on Tuesday and Senate Meetings on Wednesday, it is our top priority to meet with as many offices as possible while we are in DC. Delegate groups may be broken down into smaller groups if needed to accommodate Congressional scheduling requests and availability.

Participants should expect to meet with 7-12 offices over the 2-day event. Groups will include up to 5 people.

Geothermal Rising has partnered with Advocacy Associates to facilitate the appointment scheduling process for the 2026 Geothermal Capitol Hill Day. The details provided during participants’ registration will be used for the scheduling process.

To ensure that we are successful in our messaging goals, please note the following information:

• All attendees must check in with Geothermal Rising staff team members at the Networking Breakfast on Tuesday, April 28.
• All attendees are strongly encouraged to participate in the daily, morning Hill Day preparation meetings.
• Attendees agree to participate in the meetings in their Hill Day schedules only for the official  2 day event.  Participants are welcome to schedule meetings either before or after the event. 
• Attendees agree to use the 2026 Geothermal Capitol Hill Day talking points only-see details below.
• All appointments will be scheduled by the contracted scheduling service – attendees agree not to schedule appointments on their own.
• Attendees are responsible for their transportation to/from all appointments.
• All buildings on Capitol Hill require security screenings prior to access. Please be sure to plan your time accordingly.
• Hill appointment schedules will be accessible via Advocacy Associates mobile app. Participants can use the mobile app to track their meetings, access important talking points and documents, and communicate with other attendees.
• Access to the mobile app will be provided to all registrants 2 weeks prior to the event.

Geothermal Rising Policy Council Approved Talking Points will be generated and distributed to all registrants prior to the event.  Talking points will cover:

• Technology agnostic benefits to geothermal heating/cooling and power generation
• Current legislative bills that will support the growth of the industry
• Appropriation requests

Meeting briefs will be created and distributed through the scheduling app and will include tailored talking points, as well as detailed information on each Senator's or Representative's stance and relevant committee assignments related to geothermal energy

Geothermal Rising has negotiated a special block specifically for our event attendees. All conference attendees should make every effort to stay at the official event hotel. Supporting the official hotel room block provides staff support to resolve hotel reservation disputes; ensures attendees receive all applicable discounts and materials; and assists GR in maintaining affordable, quality programming.
