This high-impact, two-day experience offers direct advocacy opportunities with lawmakers and a firsthand look at the policymaking process.

2025 Event Recap

Our Geothermal Capitol Hill Day event this year was a huge success!  We welcomed 52 participants from 31 organizations representing 17 unique sectors within the industry to D.C.  We met with over 100 congressional offices to highlight the immense potential of geothermal energy—and the smart policy needed to unlock it. Our conversations focused on the importance of sustained investment in innovation, protecting vital tax credits, and ensuring geothermal has a strong seat at the table in the clean energy transition.

From cutting-edge startups to established developers, our delegation showcased the breadth and strength of the U.S. geothermal industry. Together, we're advancing a future where geothermal plays a central role in reliable, affordable, clean energy nationwide.

Thank you to all who participated and to the policymakers who took time to engage with us. The momentum is building—and geothermal is just getting started.

Geothermal energy is heating up in Texas!

Sage Geosystems recently announced it will be building a first of its kind 3MW commercial facility, called EarthStore™, in Texas using their innovative technology that harvests energy from pressurized water stored deep underground. Thanks to the work of the Texas Geothermal Energy Alliance and the leadership of legislators like Senator Brian Birdwell, several key bills supporting the expansion of geothermal energy passed last session.

As part of UT Energy Week, this Energy Innovation Forum brings together leading experts to discuss the latest geothermal technology breakthroughs, the status of implementing geothermal related legislation from last session and what more the legislature can do to support this rapidly growing industry.

Join us on Tuesday, March 26th from 4:00 - 5:30pm at the Capitol to hear from this incredible line up of speakers:

After an overview presentation by Dr. Ken Wisian, Matt Welch will moderate our panel discussion with Sen. Brian Birdwell, Cindy D. Taff, Jennifer Bremer, Dr. Ken Wisian and Jason Sorter. An audience Q&A will be followed by a networking reception with food and drinks in the Members Lounge.
